the room before the stage

I approach directing as an act of facilitation.

I feel the director’s greatest responsibility is creating the conditions where artists feel trusted, valued, and empowered to contribute their voices. I enter each room as a collaborator—a connector who brings together different perspectives, experiences, and artistic languages to create something larger than any individual.

My process begins with listening.

Every artist enters the room carrying their own history, identity, and understanding of the world. By honoring those experiences and building trust, I create an environment where collaborators can take risks, share ideas, and discover possibilities together.

Collaboration does not mean the absence of leadership. My role is to hold the larger vision, guide the process, and make decisions that serve the heart of the piece.
